(Video) Graeme Souness argues Ronaldo is right to air his grievance with Manchester United

There won’t be many people defending Cristiano Ronaldo after his recent outburst, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise that former Liverpool hatchet-man Graeme Souness thinks the 37-year-old was right to open a war of words with his club.

Souness argues that players are entitled to let their side of the story known and seems to agree with Ronaldo that has been was shown no respect by Erik ten Hag.

Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT radio, Souness said: “The player has a grievance and he is entitled to air it.”

I, for one, couldn’t disagree with more with that statement. How anyone can defend Ronaldo’s recent outburst, while he is under contract at United, is beyond me.

Ten Hag has handled the Ronaldo situation well and anyone who thinks otherwise seems to be completely ignoring the fact he has not been performing at a high standard this season.

Ronaldo’s legs are betraying him more than anything. It’s finally time to move on and go our separate ways.
