Cristiano Ronaldo might not be starting every game for Manchester United anymore but the 37-year-old is still having an impact on his peers from around the globe.
Ronaldo has scored three goals so far this season and after two of them, he has ditched the classic ‘si’ celebration and instead opted to intertwine his fingers above his chest and close his eyes.
Ronaldo debuted the celebration when he scored the winner over Everton last month, with United explaining it has to do with his sleeping position.
Since then, several players have copied the famous celebration. Alejandro Garnacho did so when he scored the winner against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
Now, AC Milan star and Ronaldo’s team-mate at international level, Rafael Leao, has paid homage to the legendary forward by replicating it after scoring against Fiorentina, as seen below.

Leao’s celebration comes the day before Portugal players are due to link up ahead of this winter’s World Cup. Ronaldo is joined by Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot in making the 26-man squad.
Portugal are one of the favourites to win the tournament but Erik ten Hag will be praying that all three of his players come back unscathed next month.
