Manchester United monitoring Brighton keeper Robert Sanchez

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

The Seagulls No. 1 has been in fine form again this season and was selected ahead of David de Gea in the Spain squad for the World Cup.

Some sections of the media seem to believe that United will be in the market for a new goalkeeper, with De Gea coming to the end of his current deal, but the club has the option to extend his stay by a further year.

Sanchez, 24, is a lot younger than De Gea and appears to be one of the league’s highest rated keepers in the eyes of United. That said, there could be significant interest from Chelsea if manager Graham Potter decides he wants to sign his former Brighton keeper.

That’s if Potter lasts until the summer!

The Mirror claims that Sanchez is attracting interest from both United and Chelsea.

The English coach gave Sanchez his breakthrough at Brighton and it looks like he doesn’t fancy both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Sanchez would be a good replacement for De Gea?
