Ten Hag to make changes: predicted Man United line-up vs Aston Villa

Manchester United are gearing up to take on Aston Villa once again this week following their 3-1 defeat at Villa Park in the latest round of Premier League fixtures.

The loss to Unai Emery’s men put an end to a nine-game unbeaten run for Erik ten Hag’s side but the two teams will face off again at Old Trafford on Thursday.

This time, qualification for the next round of the Carabao cup is at stake and Ten Hag is likely to rotate in what will be United’s penultimate game before the season is broken by this winter’s World Cup.

It remains unclear whether Ten Hag will be able to welcome back any absentees from the last game against Aston Villa, with Bruno Fernandes the only one confirmed to be available after he served a one-game suspension.

Antony and Jadon Sancho were both left out of the squad due to injuries but as things stand, it’s looking unlikely that either player will be able to play before the five-week break.

Martin Dubravka could finally make his first appearance for United since joining the club on loan from Newcastle, with outcast defenders Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire also possibly playing. Diogo Dalot is still the favourite to play at right-back after he was suspended for the final Premier League game for picking up five yellow cards.

Tyrell Malacia is almost guaranteed to replace Luke Shaw at left-back whilst injuries at centre-back mean that Lisandro Martinez is unlikely to be rested.

Fred could be handed a rare start alongside Scott McTominay, whilst Alejandro Garnacho will be unlucky to lose his place following a string of encouraging performances.

Anthony Martial could make his first start since the 2-1 win at Everton last month – the Frenchman’s only start of the season thus far.

Predicted Manchester United line-up (4-2-3-1): Dubravka; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Malacia; Fred, McTominay; Elanga, Fernandes, Garnacho; Martial
