Brazil’s national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar has revealed that Antony is suffering from a hip injury ahead of the World Cup.
Antony has been called up to the Brazil squad for the World Cup, however, he has not yet recovered from an injury that is keeping him out of action for Manchester United for the past three games.
On top of that, Antony is set to miss this week’s matches against Aston Villa and Fulham. Then it will be time for United to take a break from domestic action for the duration of the World Cup.
Brazil’s team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar has revealed that Antony is being closely monitored ahead of football’s biggest competition. Speaking to Goal, the doctor said: “Antony had a little problem with the flexor muscles of his right hip, he’s in the process of recovering.

“We’re in contact with the player, the medical department. He’s in a recovery phase. We have time for him to recover in time to be with us.
“This week is important; we’re talking day by day. This final phase is important.
“It depends a lot on this week. I talked to him in the morning, he’s feeling better, he’s precocious. He hasn’t started training with the group yet, he’s in physical therapy.”
The winger was one of four Manchester United players to make Tite’s squad for Qatar and it sounds like his focus will be on reaching full fitness ahead of the tournament.
Antony is joined in the squad by Alex Telles, Casemiro and Fred.
