Casemiro confident ahead of Real Sociedad clash

Casemiro has given his verdict on the importance of tonight’s match and how it will differ from the reverse fixture.

The last time Manchester United faced Real Sociedad, the Red Devils failed the find the back of the net.

A controversial penalty saw the Spanish side take all three points at Old Trafford, which has given United all the work to do tonight.

The Reds must win by two or more goals in the clash to ensure they finish as Group E leaders, consequently avoiding the Round of 16 play-offs against a demoted Champions League side. Erik ten Hag will want to miss any chance of added fixture congestion to United’s already hectic schedule.

Casemiro is confident ahead of clash

The Brazilian returns to Spain for the first time since switching to the Manchester side. Casemiro has played a crucial role for United as of late and has been named the club’s Player of the Month for October.

Ahead of tonight’s fixture, he told MUTV: “I believe it’s a very important game for us, we know that it’s always difficult to play here, but I believe our desire to play well, win, and be on top is at its maximum.”

Regarding the reverse fixture, he added: “I don’t think that we had a bad game either. We had chances, they scored from a debatable penalty. I believe this will be an entirely different game. It must have been around a month ago and a lot has changed. We know it will be a difficult game, but every match has its own story.”

On the team’s motivation and desire, Casemiro said: “As high as it could be, when you play for Manchester United it’s always at its highest. It’s part of the club’s history and values. I believe the desire and motivation to win is always as high as possible.”
