Manchester United shortlist 23-year-old rival midfielder

Despite bringing in both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen during the summer, according to recent reports, Manchester United remain interested in signing another central midfielder.

That’s according to Football Insider, who claim the Red Devils, led by Erik Ten Hag, are keeping a close eye on Leeds United’s Tyler Adams.

Adams, 23, only joined the Whites earlier this year but following his £15m move from RB Leipzig, the young American has quickly become one of the Premier League’s most impressive midfielders.

Perhaps not getting the credit he deserves after playing in a sub-par and underperforming Leeds United team, statistically, Adams’ displays in England’s top-flight make him an attractive option, and that has been echoed by the fact Jesse Marsch has started him in every domestic game, so far this season.

Whether or not the Red Devils will make an approach for Adams in the coming windows remains to be seen, however, if Ten Hag feels the young midfielder is the right player to help him achieve his goals, then the club should probably expect their bitter rivals to put up a fight.

Having five years left on his contract, Adams is at no risk of departing Elland Road anytime soon, so rival fans will demand owner Andrea Radrizzani puts a hefty price tag on their prize asset.
