Diogo Dalot sends message to Porto star after Champions League heroics

Diogo Dalot has teased Manchester United fans with a tweet on social media after the right-back reacted to Champions League heroics on Wednesday evening.

Dalot has emerged as one of the most important players under Erik ten Hag this season but there are no guarantees that he will remain beyond this campaign, with the 22-year-old’s contract expiring in the summer.

Another exciting Portuguese player, Diogo Costa, could be one to keep an eye on as the goalkeeper is making shockwaves through Europe with his performances in the Champions League.

Against Club Brugge on Wednesday, Costa became the first goalkeeper to save three penalties in the group stages of the Champions League, according to OptaJoe.

Dalot was quick to react to the remarkable feat, taking to Twitter to congratulate his international team-mate, as seen above. Costa has made seven senior appearances since making his debut for Portugal last year.

Although they now share a dressing-room at senior level, Dalot’s history with Costa stretches back farther than that. The pair played for the Portugal U21 side together as well as the Porto youth ranks.
