Todd Boehly to offer Ronaldo an escape route out of Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo won’t have many options in January but Chelsea could make a move for the veteran striker.

The 37-year-old faced disciplinary actions last week after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham last Wednesday. Ronaldo went on to leave Old Trafford early without celebrating the 2-0 win with his teammates.

As a result, Ronaldo was omitted from United’s matchday squad to face Chelsea on Saturday, as well as being forced to train alone for the remainder of the week. This was a lesson to anyone questioning Ten Hag’s control over the dressing room – and it’s clear that most players are in harmony, picking up better results than last season.

However, with Ronaldo’s future up in the air, we can expect lots of speculation between now and the January transfer window, especially if he has a good World Cup for Portugal.

Chelsea make shock swoop for Ronaldo

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea could make a shock swoop to sign Ronaldo.

It is thought that new owner Todd Boehly was keen to secure a deal for the forward, but then-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was against the idea. Now it is thought that a move will depend on Graham Potter’s preference.

Let us know if you think Ronaldo will sign for Chelsea in January? It’s a ‘no’ from us.
