Erik ten Hag looks set to be without two defenders for Manchester United’s trip to Omonia Nicosia.
Manchester United travel to Cyprus this week for Thursday’s game and they will be hoping to get back on track after losing the Manchester derby. A lot of players let themselves down at the Etihad and Ten Hag is expected to give some fringe players an opportunity to shine.
Reports suggest Raphael Varane has a sprained ankle and we still don’t know how long Harry Maguire will be out after sustaining an injury on international duty.
Varane was forced off during the first half of the derby and it sounds like he will miss this weekend’s game against Everton, too.
Ten Hag is expected to give an update on Varane and Maguire’s injuries at tomorrow’s press conference, which we will be bringing you coverage from before noon.
One player we could see feature for the first time this season is Facundo Pellistri. The Uruguay international returned from injury before the derby and was an unused substitute.
Cristiano Ronaldo could return to the starting eleven after being snubbed on the bench at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Anthony Martial could do with some extra minutes on the pitch to reach full match sharpness ahead of Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.
The squad travelling to Cyprus will be confirmed tomorrow.
