(Video) Jadon Sancho reacts to England snub after FC Sheriff goal

Jadon Sancho has emerged as one of Manchester United’s most important players under Erik ten Hag and the winger was once again pulling the strings against FC Sheriff on Thursday evening.

Sancho scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win, his third of the season. Cristiano Ronaldo scored later to seal United’s first three points of the group stage.

Just hours before the game, Sancho was left out of Gareth Southgate’s final England squad before the World Cup and the 22-year-old opened up on the disappointment after the game in Moldova.

“Obviously, it’s disappointing not to get the call-up,” Sancho told BT Sport after the game, as seen above.

“I have to keep on working hard and hopefully I do get the call-up for the World Cup but again, I just have to focus on myself and carry on working hard.”

Sancho’s omission from the England squad was surprising considering how impressive he has been this season and the decision is even more curious when some out-of-favour players have been selected ahead of him.

One thing’s for sure – if Sancho keeps this form up for the next six weeks, it will be impossible for Southgate to leave him out of his 26-man squad for the tournament in Qatar.
