Bruno Fernandes keeps his cards close to his chest over Ronaldo’s future

Bruno Fernandes was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future after Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday night.

Ronaldo’s future has been subject to a lot of speculation this summer. It has been reported that he wishes to leave, but at the same time, United haven’t received any serious bids for the 37-year-old striker.

I still think there’s a slight chance Ronaldo will stay for one more season. If that happens, he must understand that he isn’t going to be playing every game under Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo was dropped to the bench along with Harry Maguire against Liverpool. Neither were missed as Ten Hag’s side picked up three points after winning the match 2-1.

Bruno Fernandes breaks his silence over Ronaldo’s future

Fernandes broke his silence on Ronaldo’s future after the match, saying (quotes via Fabrizio Romano): “Cristiano Ronaldo’s future? I may know one thing or another, I won’t be the one who will say it.

“For now he’s a United player, he’s quiet – if he’s going to leave or if he won’t leave, he will speak soon as he said.”

With reports suggesting Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford for a second time in his career, it will be interesting to hear what he has to say in this tell-all interview he promised a week ago.

I hope it’s not another PR stunt like the documentary Paul Pogba released after leaving United. That was cringeworthy.
