Manchester United confirmed line-up vs Rayo Vallecano – debut for Martinez, Ronaldo starts

Manchester United will conclude their pre-season preparations for the 2022/23 Premier League season with a friendly against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford.

The match takes place a little over 24 hours after United lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in Oslo, so you shouldn’t be surprised to see some changes made by Erik ten Hag.

Lisandro Martinez makes his debut and we get to see Cristiano Ronaldo back in the team after a long summer break.

This game will give some of our fringe players minutes and maybe a final chance to impress Ten Hag ahead of next week’s Premier League opener against Brighton.

Ten Hag’s first game at Old Trafford is upon us and we’re excited to start our journey with the new manager.

Tom Heaton starts between the posts.

The back four consists of Ethan Laird, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Alex Telles.

In midfield we will see James Garner, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek.

Alejandro Garnacho starts up top with Cristiano Ronaldo and Tahith Chong.

Rayo Vallecano, meanwhile, are building towards their La Liga opener against Barcelona on August 13. Next season they might have Radamel Falacao and Diego Costa up front!
