Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be signing for Bayern Munich this summer.
The Portuguese superstar finds himself in unfamiliar territory as he looks to leave Old Trafford for a second time in his career. This time the five-time Ballon d’Or winner doesn’t have many – if any – preferred destination clubs looking to secure to his signature this summer.
A big change from last summer when Ronaldo initially flirted with the idea of joining Manchester City to intensify interest from another club in Manchester; one he had a chance to build a legacy at.
However, by going AWOL on not turning up for pre-season training this week, Ronaldo risks leaving United again under a grey cloud.
According to reports, Ronaldo wants to go to a club that can compete for the Champions League, like Bayern Munich – but club director Oliver Khan has shut down claims that the Bundesliga giants will be signing the 37-year-old as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Speaking to Kicker, the former Bayern Munich goalkeeper gave his verdict on Ronaldo future and Bayern Munich’s stance on his future: “As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest, a transfer would not fit into our philosophy.”
