Hannibal Mejbri recognised by the Confederation of African Football for performances in 2022

Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri has been nominated for the 2022 CAF Young Player of the Year award.

The 19-year-old has 16 caps for Tunisia but that will only build his desire to make their World Cup squad later this year.

Tunisia face Denmark, Australia and France in Group D in Qatar.

This will be Hannibal’s first opportunity to feature in a World Cup and he already tasted his first piece of silverware last month, helping his country to the Kirin Cup.

Despite it being a season to forget for most United fans, the academy gave us something to celebrate with the FA Youth Cup triumph. Hannibal wasn’t part of that side but he’s one of many talented products from the academy who could have a future in the first team.

  • Karim Konate (Cote d’Ivoire & ASEC/RB Salzburg)
