Bruno Fernandes registered more assists than any other player in the Champions League this season.

The Manchester United star set up his team-mates on seven different occasions in Europe’s biggest competition, but unfortunately it wasn’t a campaign that the team will look back at too fondly.

Not only did United crash out of Champions League in the round-of-16, losing to Atletico Madrid, the Red Devils also finished sixth in the Premier League and will be playing Europa League football next season.

Erik ten Hag’s job next season will be to get United back into the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the brilliant Karim Benzema finished the Champions League campaign as top scorer this season, scoring 15 goals to help Real Madrid claim their 14th triumph in the prestigious competition.

We enjoyed the fact Liverpool were the team to pay the price in the final.

For over five months we’ve heard non-stop discussion about the Scousers being the best side English football has seen, yet it was all very premature because they didn’t win the quadruple.
