Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has broken his silence on Paul Pogba’s potential return to Juventus.
Pogba, 29, is set to leave Manchester United on a free transfer this summer after the Red Devils failed to extend his contract.
Despite re-joining the club back in 2016 in a deal worth a staggering £94.5m, the 2018 World Cup winner is now destined to walk away from the club he has spent the last six years with.
Although the French midfielder is likely to have a host of interested clubs, one team that has continually been linked is former side Juventus.
Pogba has been vocal about his love for Italy in the past, hinting that a move back to Turin could be on the cards this summer.
Breaking his silence on the relentless speculation, Juventus’ Allegri who spoke to DAZN Italia, (as translated by MEN), said: “He won’t be back, he is afraid of challenging me.”
Going on to reference a video that went viral during Pogba’s first spell with the ‘Old Lady’ that saw the Frenchman lose out to his manager in a basketball and football challenge, Allegri added: “He lost playing with foot and hands. That’s why he left. That’s the real reason why he left.”
