5 former Manchester United players tipped for next Burnley boss after Sean Dyche sack

The bookies are taking bets on who will become the next Burnley manager after Sean Dyche was sacked this morning.

Dyche spent a decade at Turf Moor and successfully led the club to promotion from the Championship in 2013/14 and 2015/16. In the Premier League, they’ve always been renowned for being a conservative side, which could change with a new managerial appointment.

So could their Premier League status which has been on the brink in recent years, although Dyche was the one to keep them up then.

In a statement on Burnley’s official website, chairman of Burnley, Alan Pace, said: “Firstly, I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sean and his staff for their achievements at the club over the last decade.

“During his time at Turf Moor, Sean has been a credit both on and off the pitch, respected by players, staff, supporters, and the wider football community. However, results this season have been disappointing and, while this was an incredible difficult decision, with eight games of the campaign remaining, we feel a change is needed to give the squad the best possible chance of retaining its Premier League status. The process of replacing Sean has begun and further announcements will be made to supporters in duo course.”

However, a number of former Manchester United players have been tipped by the bookies to be in the running for the Burnley job.
