Manchester United manager search: Ten Hag emerges as clear favourite

Manchester United will carry out a second and final round of interviews before making a decision on their next manager.

According to The Telegraph, Ajax coach Erik ten Hag is leading the race after impressing in his first interview with the club.

United are said to have spoken to Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino and one other candidate, but it is believed they have not discussed the job with Luis Enrique, who is focused on the World Cup later this year. That will be music to David de Gea’s ears after being omitted from the recent Spain squad.

Pochettino has been linked with United ever since Jose Mourinho’s sacking in 2018 but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got the job then.

Now it looks like he could miss out on the United job again.

PSG are willing to part ways with the Argentine in the summer and wouldn’t ask for a fee should he join another club.

Meanwhile, United will be looking to make a final decision in the coming weeks.

Fans are growing impatient with the wait but hopefully they make the right decision.
