Hannibal Mejbri set to rejoin Manchester United first team after AFCON exit

Hannibal Mejbri is working hard to impress Ralf Rangnick in order to earn more first team opportunities at Manchester United.

The younger players will be looking at Anthony Elanga’s sudden jump into senior football under the interim manager and we are looking forward to seeing how many goals the Swede can score between now and the end of the season. All of the kids in the academy will want to replicate that and start a career story of their own at Old Trafford.

However, the Manchester Evening News have shared some positive news for the Tunisia international, who had been away at the African Cup of Nations, and it suggests Mejbri is set to rejoin United’s first team when he returns from international duty.

Mejbri will return to Manchester in the coming days following Tunisia’s elimination from the tournament. He managed to make two appearances for his national side during the competition in Cameroon but was an unused substitute in both of their knockout matches.

Still, the youngster would have gained a lot of experience from being away at a tournament like AFCON. It will only help him grow as both a person and footballer.

Tunisia’s AFCON run came to an end with defeat against Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals on Saturday. However, there is reason to believe the 19-year-old will return with fire in his belly to prove he is ready for chances under Rangnick.

The report states Rangnick is already aware of the talented teenager and is set to reward him with regular opportunities to train with the senior players for the rest of the season.

Time to step up!
