Jadon Sancho missing from United squad due to family bereavement

We would like to send our best wishes to Jadon Sancho after hearing the news that a family member passed away.

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that the England international is missing from tonight’s match squad because the funeral was held earlier today.

Rangnick doesn’t give anymore details away and you have to respect that.

BBC Sport reporter Shamoon Hafez quoted the manager via Twitter, saying: “There was the funeral today, he asked me if he could (not play). It would not make sense for him to be part of the squad.”

You have to respect that from the manager and I’m sure everyone at United will give Sancho the support he needs during this difficult time.

Rangnick spoke about the winger’s struggles on the pitch since joining the Red Devils, but we believe with some patience he will become one of the Premier League’s best attacking players.

However, tonight we will be keeping a close eye on United’s trip to Brentford in the Premier League.

Anthony Elanga starts his second game on the bounce.
