(Video) Fred misses golden chance to assist Jesse Lingard in 1-1 draw vs Chelsea

Manchester United came away from Stamford Bridge with a point on Sunday.

It could have been three points for the Reds had Michael Carrick’s side took their chances in the dying minutes of the game.

One particular big moment was when Fred intercepted a pass from Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The Brazilian paused for a moment to evaluate his options, taking far too long before ultimately making the wrong decision to attempt a chip on Mendy, who collected the ball with ease.

Fred should’ve played Jesse Lingard in for a match-winning assist.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also in an advanced position.

The result means United have conceded just one goal in two games under Carrick.

It’s also a bonus for the caretaker boss to have achieved this result without Raphael Varane or Harry Maguire.

We should be looking to build on this draw with a win over Arsenal on Thursday night.
