“He has arrived!” – some Man Utd fans sing Jadon Sancho’s praises after first goal of the season

Manchester United have progressed to the knockout stages of the Champions League after a 2-0 win at Villarreal, with Michael Carrick’s caretaker stint ending in a morale-boosting victory.

The former United midfielder has taken temporary charge of the side following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking and guided United to a crucial three points in Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave United the lead with roughly 20 minutes remaining on the clock as the Portuguese superstar capitalised on a fatal error from the Villarreal backline.

Jadon Sancho has struggled in his first few months at the club but looks to have put those woes behind him. The 21-year-old was one of United’s best players against Watford last weekend and had now ended his goal drought.

Sancho made sure there wasn’t a nervy finale to the game as he found the top corner with a sumptuous strike in the closing exchanges, sending some fans on social media into a frenzy, as seen below.

The 21-year-old will be hoping that the goal against Villarreal is the first of many as he sets his sights on a productive period for his club.

On the managerial front, Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a mid-season move to the club but the Argentinian distanced himself from those claims earlier on Tuesday.
