Ole Gunnar Solskjaer holds crisis talks with Man Utd players including Cristiano Ronaldo

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under huge pressure to keep his job at Manchester United and the Norwegian could perhaps count his lucky stars to remain in a job following a disastrous run of form in the Premier League.

His side has accumulated just 17 points from their opening 11 league games, with only one victory recorded in their last six.

Manchester United’s season is in real danger of unraveling if they don’t halt this disappointing run, and according to reports, Solskjaer has now held crisis talks with some of the first-team stars at the club.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Solskjaer held talks with Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire, and Bruno Fernandes in a bid to salvage United’s season.

The meeting is said to have taken place early on Thursday this week, with Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, and Nemanja Matic also thought to have participated.

How United are to go about turning the season around is believed to have been discussed, with tactical tweaks following a system change also on the agenda.

SN’s verdict on the reported crisis meeting…
Manchester United are currently at a point where only performances will suffice – the players have come out on social media on countless occasions this season but there has yet to be a reaction on the pitch.

In the social media age, where appearances off the pitch seem to matter more, making a nuisance of yourself on it has been lost.

Solskjaer won’t need anyone to tell him this but the Norwegian is at risk of losing his dream job so understandably, he is making one final push in a bid to rally the troops.

The two defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City were gutting but a stern response is needed this weekend when his side make the trip to Watford.
