The final international break of the calendar year is upon us and several Manchester United players will be hoping to seal qualification for next year’s World Cup in Qatar.
Harry Maguire is the only Manchester United player expected to feature for England tonight against Albania as Gareth Southgate’s side look to secure their place in the tournament.
England are in a favourable position going into the game at Wembley, with a victory securing a play-off position as their worst possible scenario. A win would, however, almost certainly seal qualification as they would then only need one point against San Marino in their final group game.
Maguire enjoyed a stellar EURO 2020 over the summer and was named in the ‘Team of the Tournament’ following England’s run to the final.

He has endured a tougher start to this season but could put an end to his miserable form with a couple of dominant performances for his nation. In training, he has looked up for it and England have now shared a clip of the centre-back scoring a delightful finish in one of their training drills, as seen above.
Maguire combined with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham before confidently putting the ball past the goalkeeper. Seconds later, he guides a volley in at the other end to make it two out of two.
He might fancy himself as a striker but he is unlikely to oust Cristiano Ronaldo as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice forward anytime soon.
