Dimitar Berbatov fears Solskjaer sack ahead of Manchester derby

Manchester United face Manchester City in less than two hours and the first derby of the season comes with huge expectations. Pep Guardiola’s side, who were runaway champions last year, are just three points ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stuttering team.

Following that embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, a somewhat successful recovery attempt has been made by Solskjaer and they now have a chance to get their season back on track with a win.

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has now outlined his fears over the 90-minute affair, insisting Solskjaer’s job is in danger if United replicate the performance against Liverpool.

“If United approach this City game the same as the Liverpool game, then it will be the same result,” Berbatov told The Sun.

“And if it is the same result and performance, that’s going to be too much for everybody.

“I hope and I don’t think it will be like that – otherwise it will be a double embarrassment and it would show Ole didn’t learn anything from Liverpool which shouldn’t be the case.

“They need to learn from that defeat and do everything in their power to play in a way that can win.”
