Man Utd, Liverpool and PSG interested in Barcelona wonderkid – report

Manchester United have joined two of Europe’s elite clubs in the race to sign Barcelona wonderkid Gavi, according to reports. The 17-year-old midfielder is enjoying a breakthrough campaign with Barcelona this season as he aims to cement himself in Ronald Koeman’s midfield.

Gavi’s career took a turn for the better earlier this week when he made his Spain debut, featuring from the start in Spain’s UEFA Nations League semi-final against Italy, a match they won 2-1. In the final on Sunday, they will face France.

Should Gavi be given the nod from the start again, he could come up against Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, a battle many supporters will be looking forward to after the reports linking Gavi with a move to Old Trafford.

That’s according to El Nacional, who claim that Manchester United, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing Gavi. The player is said to have a release clause of €50m at the Catalan club but that sum is seen as ‘acceptable’ by the three clubs involved.

The player has just two years remaining on his contract and extending his deal is one of Barcelona’s priorities, especially after the heroics for his nation.

Manchester United have made a habit of recruiting young players from abroad, with Hannibal Mejbri, Facundo Pellistri, and Amad Diallo all joining the club at similar ages.
