What you should do with your Man Utd assets in Fantasy Premier League – opinion

The new season is well and truly underway and Fantasy Premier League teams are starting to take place after the initial rounds caused quite the stir in the community.

Some of last season’s most popular assets are yet to deliver and have been replaced by new signings, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku proving to be go-to picks by many FPL managers.

There are a select few players from Manchester United who are essentials to many and Stretty News takes a look at what you should do with them.

Luke Shaw (£5.5m)
At the start of the season, the 26-year-old left-back was the most picked player in the game but he has lacked the end product which made him such a popular choice. Furthermore, a potential injury lay-off will put off managers and a price drop is likely. United are also set to embark on a challenging run of fixtures, making defensive returns unlikely.

Verdict: SELL

Bruno Fernandes (£11.9)
Manchester United’s midfield maestro could be in for another drop in price after a large chunk of managers sold him to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. If you still have Fernandes in your team, it’s better to keep hold of him as he could be a differential at the top of your leagues. In the grand scheme of things, a decision has to be made on which Portuguese star you prefer.

Verdict: KEEP

Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.7m)
The 36-year-old rose in price by £0.2m after his first two games amid a high selection among managers but a dramatic turn in fixture difficulty could turn managers towards cheaper forwards.

At his high price, you have to evaluate whether double-digit hauls are likely against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, and Liverpool.

A sale would allow you to redistribute the money across your team and there are several value-for-money forwards to go for. Michail Antonio is the division’s top scorer and is proving to be almost fixture proof.

Verdict: SELL
