Gary Neville warns Manchester duo about serious rivals for Premier League title

Gary Neville has spoken out about the Premier League title race this season and heaped praise on what a serious outfit Chelsea look so far.

Chelsea surprised everyone when they won the Champions League last season and this year they are stronger, with their sights set on challenging for the Premier League under Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel’s impact has been incredible and it makes you wonder it will stop others from giving Frank Lampard a job again, since he was manager right up until January last season.

Chelsea have brought in Romelu Lukaku to score them goals and he’s already doing that.

Meanwhile, people will be talking about Pep Guardiola’s Man City or Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United with question marks over who will go the whole way this season.

Neville seems convinced that Cjelsea are good enough to go for the major honours.

“It was interesting because I’d expect Manchester United to beat Newcastle the way in which they did – with or without Ronaldo,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“But then I went home from Salford to watch the Chelsea-Villa game and Villa played well, and Villa are a decent side, but Chelsea again, just like robotic, methodical.

“When they scored that first goal, Lukaku, I just thought, ’Ooh, it’s ominous’. The striker scoring, guaranteed, the players in behind him, a good midfield. They’re going to be very difficult to stop.”
