(Video) Gary Neville backs Cristiano Ronaldo to shine at United despite age

Gary Neville doesn’t think Cristiano Ronaldo is over the hill despite returning to Manchester United at the age of 36.

It’s obvious that we are not getting Ronaldo in his prime — he left us for Real Madrid prior to his best years — but this is still a world-class goalscorer and Neville backs him to succeed at the club again.

Whether or not this is enough to bring the Premier League title back to Old Trafford remains to be seen, but let’s not forget how Ronaldo outscored Chelsea’s mega-money signing Romelu Lukaku in Serie A last term yet Juventus were unable to lift the crown in May.

There will be a lot written about Ronaldo over the coming months, with some pundits completely forgetting that the Portuguese superstar is well aware of what it takes to perform week in week out in the Premier League.

This is also a player who registered five goals at Euro 2020 during the summer.

Ronaldo wouldn’t return if he thought it would ruin his legacy and this is a player who was never short on confidence.
