Fabrizio Romano highlights Erling Haaland’s ‘strong’ relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in transfer race

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is set to be a man in demand next summer after a breathtaking 18 months with the German club.

Haaland, who rejected the chance to join Manchester United in 2020, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after players and is available on the market in just 12 months.

Journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the situation, insisting that Manchester United will be in the race next year and has highlighted the forward’s ‘strong’ relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Norwegian superstar this summer but a move has failed to materialize, with Romano claiming that no bid has been made amid Dortmund’s high demands.

Next summer, as per Romano, Haaland’s release clause will allow the 21-year-old to leave for just €75m, having inserted the break clause in his 2020 sale from RB Salzburg.

“Next summer will be an open situation with many clubs,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “I receive many questions about Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and many other clubs.

“I think that all these clubs will be in the race next summer. So we can mention, of course, Manchester United, the strong relationship with Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer).”

Despite the player’s bond with Solskjaer, having worked with him at Molde previously, United are set to face fierce competition for his signature, should they attempt to sign him.
