Dean Henderson talks up Jadon Sancho’s arrival at Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is the latest to welcome Jadon Sancho to the club. Henderson, who spent two seasons on loan at Sheffield United before returning to the club last season, has played with Sancho at international level for the last 12 months.

After a full year of speculation, Manchester United finally put an end to rumours last week by confirming the arrival of Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Henderson has missed all three of Manchester United’s pre-season fixtures so far with a hip injury, having pulled out of England’s Euro 2020 squad earlier this summer.

The 24-year-old has welcomed Sancho to the club, whilst also hinting that a move to United was already in the former Manchester City youngster’s head last summer.

“Jadon’s a great guy, I’ve got a lot of time for Jadon,” Henderson told the official Manchester United website. “It was more just speaking to him to try and get him to come to the football club.

“He didn’t need any persuading because he already had it in his head last summer as well. I’m happy that it’s over the line for him and I hope he can bring his talent onto the pitch here and show everyone what he can do.”

Sancho’s involvement in this summer’s European Championship meant that he was granted an extended break, along with the other finalists in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad. Everyone is, however, expected back in training next week.
