Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Man Utd star is injured for a few weeks

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Alex Telles will miss a large chunk of pre-season due to an injury suffered in pre-season. The left-back was sporadically used by Solskjaer last season and will face a brief spell on the sidelines ahead of the new campaign.

Telles played the second half of United’s 2-1 win over Derby last weekend but was left out of the squad to face Queens Park Rangers today.

Ahead of the game at Loftus Road, Solskjaer confirmed to MUTV, via Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, that the former Porto captain would be out for ‘a few weeks’.

Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign in just three weeks as they face Leeds United at Old Trafford on August 14.

Telles will now face a race against time to be fit for the encounter, with Luke Shaw also a doubt due to a rib injury sustained during Euro 2020 with England.
