Man Utd star Paul Pogba nominated for Euro 2020 prize

Despite disappointingly crashing out of the tournament at the earlier knockout stage, Paul Pogba’s performances at Euro 2020 have earned him plenty of praise.

The midfielder was the shining light of France’s disappointing campaign and was touted to be named ‘player of the tournament’ at one point but was instead sent home after losing on penalties against Switzerland.

France took a comfortable 3-1 lead in that round-of-16 tie against Switzerland last month but surprisingly allowed their neighbours a route back into the game.

Les Bleus’ third goal, as seen above, was a beautifully placed 25-yard strike from the Manchester United midfielder and has now been nominated for ‘goal of the tournament’. The video has been uploaded to UEFA’s YouTube channel and voting has been opened for supporters.

France’s early elimination could prove to be helpful to Manchester United, however, with the 28-year-old now expected to be ready for the first game of next season on August 14.
