(Video) England fans sing Sweet Caroline before semi-final v Denmark

The scenes outside Wembley on Wednesday afternoon are upbeat as England aim to make it to a first major tournament final in over 50 years, having previously done so in the 1966 World Cup.

Gareth Southgate and his side were close to repeating the feat three years ago but succumbed to defeat against Croatia in the semi-final but can now make amends for the mishap in Russia.

Rio Ferdinand, who has been working as a pundit for the duration of this summer’s European Championship, posted a video on Twitter of fans singing along to ‘Sweet Caroline’ ahead of the game against Denmark with the former Manchester United player seemingly acting as an orchestrator.

England have impressed in their first five games of the tournament, keeping clean sheets in all of them. With COVID-19 restrictions easing in England, the game will also see over 60,000 fans in attendance at Wembley.

Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are set to start the game, whilst Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were both named on the bench.
