AC Milan hoping to add Manchester United player to next season’s squad

AC Milan are working on a deal to bring Diogo Dalot back to the club, according to reports. The full-back spent the 2020/21 season on loan with the Milano side and is set for a return to Manchester United after this summer’s European Championships.

The 22-year-old was drafted into Portugal’s Euro 2020 squad at late notice earlier this month but will return to the club for pre-season preparations after the tournament.

Dalot made 21 appearances for Milan last season, starting 10 of them, but is the subject of interest from the club after they secured entry to the Champions League for the first time since 2014.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, Milan are working on a deal to bring the defender back to the club but are restrained by their English counterparts, who are reportedly unwilling to complete a deal on Milan’s terms.

The publication claim that Milan want to strengthen their squad for next season and desire a loan with an option to buy, whereas Manchester United are believed to want a straightforward transfer.
