(Video) Marcus Rashford praises ‘unbelievable’ Cristiano Ronaldo

Marcus Rashford is the latest player to shower Cristiano Ronaldo with praise after the Portugal forward became the top goalscorer in European Championship history. The 36-year-old scored twice in his side’s 3-0 win over Hungary, taking his tally to 11 goals in the tournament overall.

Ronaldo also became the only player to feature in five different renditions of the tournament, having made his first appearance at Euro 2004.

“He’s an unbelievable player. It almost becomes normal now when he defies the odds,” Rashford said when quizzed on his childhood hero. “We want to play against the best players in the world, that’s the reason why we push ourselves every day.”

Rashford has been full of praise of Ronaldo in the past, often citing the Juventus talisman as one of his idols growing up. Despite his tender age of 23, Rashford still has memories of Ronaldo in the red shirt of United and will be hoping to replicate that himself.

Many have likened Rashford to the Portugal star, mainly owing to their similar playstyles but also the similarities in their dazzling technique.
