Manchester United are continuing to work on reinforcing their squad after the latest recruitment meeting last week, according to reports.
The Manchester Evening News claims manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attended the meeting.
United’s technical chief scout Mick Court was responsible for writing up a shortlist of transfer targets in January, which gave director of football negotiations Matt Judge time to open dialogue with various players’ representatives. In turn United can find out what is realistic as the transfer window opens.
The MEN go on to report United are interested in Raphael Varane, Declan Rice and Jadon Sancho.
Only time will tell if Real Madrid sell Varane this summer, but the word on the street is Rice will be priced out of a move from West Ham. Sancho is a target from last year and it wouldn’t surprise us if he ended up at Old Trafford before Euro 2020.
The Frenchman appears to be the man Solskjaer wants to partner skipper Harry Maguire at the back, and he’d certainly help us compete at the highest level in the Champions League. Not to mention the different I think Sancho could bring on the right flank.
Assistant manager Mike Phelan is also said to have been in attendance for the meeting, as well as football director John Murtough.
