Bruno Fernandes salary to double to over £10m annually with new Manchester United deal – report

Manchester United are set to offer Bruno Fernandes a new deal, according to reports.

The 26-year-old Portugal international has become United’s talisman since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.

It’s usually the case that players take time to settle and adjust to new leagues, teams and of course the manager. Fernandes, however, has hit the ground running to provide 26 goals and 19 assists in his first 51 games in the Premier League.

Fernandes’ current deal runs until 2025 but, according to The Mirror, United believe now is the right time to reward him with a bigger and better deal. The report claims his weekly wage is set to double from £100,000 to £200,000 per week – meaning he would earn a yearly salary of £10.4m.

I don’t think there’s a Manchester United fan out there who won’t be happy by this news.

Yes, footballers earn astronomical money, but that’s a stone age old debate. Fernandes is our best player and it’s important to ensure he’s here for the long-term.
