Manchester United could use Lingard as £20m makeweight in deal to sign Sancho – report

Jesse Lingard has been in sensational form since joining West Ham on loan in the January transfer window.

The Sun reckons Manchester United could use the England midfielder in their efforts to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The future looks bright for the 28-year-old, even though it doesn’t appear to be at Old Trafford. He’s worked tremendously hard whilst on loan and has proved himself to be a very good Premier League player, who should be in contention for the Three Lions this summer at the Euros.

If The Sun are to be believed, though, Lingard could be given the opportunity to move to Germany and play for Borussia Dortmund next season.

The report suggests that Lingard could get United a £20m discount on Sancho – and you won’t find many fans putting their noses up at that idea.

United desperately need a right winger and have too many players in Lingard’s role competing for a place, with Bruno Fernandes topping the pecking order as you would expect.
