Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham and Wycombe have all been relegated from the Championship.

Wayne Rooney’s Derby County narrowly escaped relegation after a 3-3 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday – the final day of the Championship season.

The former Manchester United striker guided The Rams into their final match on the back of a six-game losing streak. They knew before the game they needed at least a point to avoid the drop provided Rotherham failed to win.

Rotherham were relegated after drawing 1-1 with Cardiff City, with the final day of the season full of drama.

From a Manchester United perspective, we keep an eye on how former players get on when they dive into the world of management and coaching. Rooney knew he had a big job on his hands when he got the Derby job, with the objective to avoid relegation.

Congratulations on getting across the line, Wazza.
