Jadon Sancho makes transfer admission after Borussia Dortmund win

Jadon Sancho has broken his silence on his future amid reported links over a move to Manchester United.

Sancho was in action for Dortmund on Saturday as he scored a brace in a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig, on the same day Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions for a 9th season in a row.

With the transfer window just around the corner, journalists were keen to ask Sancho about his future, which judging by his answer is up in the air at the moment.

“Will I leave the club? I don’t know about my future,” Sancho is quoted by the Liverpool Echo. “I am very happy here in Dortmund at the moment. I love the club, the fans and the team.

“They gave me my first professional start.”

According to 90min, United still see Sancho as a target this summer after missing out on his signature last year. The report claims Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aims to convince Edinson Cavani to stay as well as recruit the 21-year-old winger.

Famed football journalist Fabrizio Romano told his Here We Go podcast that not only has Borussia Dortmund’s asking price been slashed for Sancho, but the player has also retained an interest in joining the club.

“This year is different because Borussia Dortmund will be asking for less than €120m. [Likely] less than €100m. It will be like €85m/€90m/€95m,” said Romano. “Borussia Dortmund are open for this kind of situation and now it’s time to see who’s going to start negotiations.

“No-one is officially negotiating with Borussia Dortmund but pay attention because the timing of the deal will be key. They won’t be open to negotiate for Sancho in late August in the last week. Only at the beginning of the transfer market in June or July.”

Romano added that Sancho was prepared for a switch to Old Trafford a year ago.

“For sure he was prepared to join Manchester United last summer, and he was buzzing to join Manchester United. I’m sure that if they come back offering money to Borussia Dortmund and talking with Sancho, he will be 100% happy. But also, other clubs were interested and are interested.

“Last summer it was United, this summer it’s open race.”

Do you think we’ll end up signing Sancho this summer?
