Predicted Man Utd XI v Man City – Extra defender from the start for United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have a pretty good idea of who will be in the starting eleven tomorrow to face Manchester City.

While we think we do, with our predictions based on the manager’s tendency for selection, you can let us know if you agree with the below line-up in the comments section.

Dean Henderson is set to retain his place in goal as David de Gea has been allowed to go to Spain on paternity leave following the birth of his baby daughter this week. It gives the young keeper a chance to prove his worth to Solskjaer with questions now being asked over United’s first choice shot stopper next season.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see an extra centre-back in the team from the start to help deal with City’s high press.

In a 3-5-2 that would give Luke Shaw a greater license to push forward without leaving United too exposed at the back.

Solskjaer clearly still trusts Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire as a duo but on Sunday they could do with some help from Eric Bailly.

Fred and McTominay will run the midfield behind Bruno Fernandes.

That leaves us with Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani up front.

Don’t forget to let us know if you agree with our predicted XI to face City: Henderson, Bailly, Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Shaw; Rashford, Cavani.
