Man United cool Sancho interest amid Greenwood form

Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Sancho, 20, has been a long-standing transfer target for United following a stunning breakthrough campaign last season.

The talented English winger racked-up a hugely impressive 40 goal contributions in just 44 appearances, in all competitions and has since been widely regarded as one of England’s most gifted attackers.

Despite their well-documented interest, a move to Manchester failed to materialise for Sancho after the two clubs could not agree on a transfer fee, rumoured to be north of £100m (Sky Sports).

After seemingly missing out on the chance to sign the 20-year-old, United have reportedly taken a step back in their pursuit and cooled their interest.

According to a recent report from The Athletic, the Red Devils’ hierarchy have been so impressed with Mason Greenwood’s development and versatility that they now longer view a right-winger as a top transfer priority.

As well as Greenwood, who primarily features on the right-flank, United also have the option of the newly resurged Daniel James and new-signing Amad Diallo.

The club’s wealth of talent in wide-areas is well-documented, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and now academy prospect Shola Shoretire all able to inter-change between flanks.

It has been suggested that these host of wide-attacking options added to Greenwood’s impressive top-flight development could open the door for another club to swoop in for Sancho.

Would you prefer to see the Red Devils go all out to land Sancho in the summer or turn their attentions to another position – Perhaps a central defender?
