‘He’s drunk too many red wines’ – Ferdinand adamant United will finish above Liverpool in PL

Rio Ferdinand has suggested on BT Sport during their live coverage of Manchester United’s defeat to Sheffield United on Wednesday that both Liverpool and Tottenham will finish below the Old Trafford outfit.

Presenter Jake Humphrey initially asked Rio Ferdinand and Peter Crouch: ‘Who will finish higher Liverpool or Manchester United?’

They both proceeded to share that they have had a ‘wager’ on this and the winner will get a case of red wine and the other will give money to a charity of their choosing.

It was pretty clear that Ferdinand thinks Liverpool are a lost cause in the race for Premier League success this season, but so are United if we can’t put away teams like Sheffield United, sitting at the very bottom now with 8 points for show for the season to date.

Crouch added: “Well, I said before the game that I still think Liverpool will finish above United.”

Ferdinand responded: “Nah, he’s drunk too many red wines during this lockdown period. I think United will finish above Spurs. We have had a little wager. What is it a case of red wine is it?

Crouch then added: “A case of red wine or a charity of your choice. We do whatever you want. Liverpool will finish above United.”
