Borussia Dortmund expecting Jadon Sancho exit for reduced fee

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly expecting star winger Jadon Sancho to depart in the summer and are preparing themselves to be forced into accepting a much lower transfer fee.

Sancho, 20, enjoyed a hugely impressive breakthrough campaign with Dortmund last time out during a season which saw the Englishman contribute to 40 goals in just 44 appearances.

After emerging as one of Europe’s most gifted attackers, Sancho was hotly tipped to join Manchester United in a deal worth around £100m, as per Sky Sports.

However, after a summer of relentless speculation, both clubs failed to reach an agreement and Sancho was forced to remain at Dortmund for at least one more season.

Despite being one of his side’s most prolific attackers last time out, Sancho has struggled to replicate that same form and if truth be told, already looks to have his mind elsewhere.

The latest in the ongoing saga comes from Sport 1 (via Sports Witness), who claim that the Black and Yellows are now resigned to the fact they’re probably going to have to bid farewell to Sancho in the summer.

The report claims that Dortmund officials Hans-Joachim Watzke and Michael Zorc are ‘firmly expecting’ the player to move somewhere else and have suggested the valuation this summer will be less than last summer’s.

It has not been reported exactly how much Dortmund will demand for Sancho next summer, but it is expected to be much closer to a figure both clubs could agree on.
