Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update on Amad Diallo’s debut

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given fans an update on when they can expect to see new-signing and wonder-kid Amad Diallo make his debut.

Diallo, 18, completed his long-awaited transfer from Atalanta earlier this month after agreeing to join during last year’s summer transfer window, as per ManUtd.

Despite agreeing to move to United over six-months ago, work permit and passport complications meant the highly-rated teenager was forced to wait to link-up with his new team-mates.

Diallo’s impressive youth form in Italy which saw him directly contribute to 61 goals in 93 appearances was the main reason behind Solskjaer’s eagerness to bring him to Manchester.

Now training with his new team-mates in the Red Devils’ senior first-team, fans have been desperate to know when they can expect to see the talented teenager awarded with his debut.

Speaking in a recent press conference, as relayed by the club’s official website, Solskjaer, when asked about how the Reds’ new 18-year-old has settled in, said: “Very good.

“He can handle the ball. He’s enjoyed training and makes a difference in training, which is quite remarkable at his age.

“[He’ll need] some adjustment to settle into the hustle and bustle of the physical part of the Premier League. I can’t see it being too long until he’s in the squad.”

When pressed on whether or not fans can expect to see Diallo in action during United’s next set of jam-packed fixtures, Solskjaer said: “It might be quicker than that, who knows?”

“He’s definitely settled down well. The players have taken to him and he’s a very good character.

“[He’s] a very good, smily boy who works really hard. He’s doing his sessions and getting used to us, of course. There’s always a period of adjustment needed, but he’s settled in well.”
