Manchester United are in a title race.
Gary Neville accepts that and so should everyone else.
Nobody is saying United are going to win the league but Neville’s assessment correctly points at how this group of players deserve credit for turning things around.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is another and he took pelters from pundits in the past. Only recently, talkSPORT mouthpiece Simon Jordan said he would get sacked because of Anthony Martial (aye, strange one, I know…).
The former United captain asked: “Why shouldn’t Manchester United fans get carried away?”
There’s no reason for not getting a bit giddy. It’s long deserved.
He’s right because we haven’t had a lot to sing about in recent years.
This is a moment to enjoy and we’ll make the most of it.
Now, bring on that lot at Anfield!
