Rio Ferdinand has predicted that Amad Diallo has the potential to be an ‘absolute world beater’ at Manchester United.
Diallo was confirmed as an official United player last week after his summer deadline day transfer from Serie A side Atalanta was eventually finalised.
The 18-year-old winger’s arrival at Old Trafford has sparked huge excitement within the club’s fanbase, despite the fact he has only played 59 minutes of first-team football.
His inexperience at the top level means early expectations should be tempered as he joins his new teammates eager to make a mark.
But Ferdinand is excited about the heights Diallo can reach in a red shirt.
Speaking on his official FIVE Youtube Channel, the United great suggested the club may have unearthed something special based on discussions with people involved in the transfer and highlights clips.
Diallo is expected to link up with his new teammates imminently, but it is unclear whether he will initially compete for a first-team place or continue to develop in Neil Wood’s talented U23 squad.
