Facundo Pellistri highlighted his potential with a superb assist for Manchester United Under-23’s against Tottenham on Sunday.

Pellistri has made three appearances for Neil Wood’s development side since his deadline day arrival from Penarol, but the 4-2 victory at Leigh Sports village was his best display yet.

The Uruguayan teenager made his first goal contribution in a red shirt with a pin-point cross for Shola Shoretire as the young Reds took the lead against Tottenham.

It was a lovely delivery from Pellistri and an example of what he can deliver from the flanks.

Expectations must be tempered with Pellistri as he is still very inexperienced but he will only improve under Wood’s guidance in the Under-23 squad.

He has also been training regularly with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team and will hope to impress the Norwegian manager enough for a first-team debut before the end of the season.

The 18-year-old expressed his delight with the victory over Tottenham to his followers on social media.
